i have a vague idea of the style i wish to establish, and have been trying to develop the little nuances in figures and perspectives better. i'm getting better at proportions and angles, yay! with more practice, i think my line art for figures and illustrations should get better. i'm still trying to get rid of the anime-japanese influence that is imminent in my works, but then maybe i shouldn't. after all, all that stuff does inspire me alot, and provides alot of inspiration for me. i'd like to be able to develop a style that's completely unique and fresh though. *le sigh*
i'm taking a graphic novel-related class in school this semester, which i'm really looking forward to! on the course description, it says: "students must be able to write stories and/or draw." i'm not so sure when it comes to the stories bit, as i'm not much of a story writer, although i have a few wild ideas in my head that might be half-decent. art-wise, as i said, i have confidence in my ideas and such, and can manage pretty well, but i'd like to get my basics down pat before doing any distortion. practice practice practice. i guess this class will be good for me
i've taken to oil and watercoulour painting this summer, and have some pieces that i've done, amongst the tons of sketches - i've used up almost three sketchpads worth of paper! all of my doodles are in bits and pieces though. i should collate them better. @_@;; i'll upload some of my newer works as soon as i've cleaned up my mess, and scanned everything in.
looking at my gallery, i'm seriously thinking of deleting everything and starting fresh. really. i don't know, but for some reason, everything here seems so... amateur. hahaha. but then maybe it's a good thing that i can actually see my progression. :3 well.
note to everyone who commented and favorite-ed and friended me over the period of time i haven't checked this account: thank you thank you thank you! please keep watching me, and i'll make it a point from now on to comment on each and every remark and message i get. your support encourages and inspires me to do more
